i was in austin, so i had to buy a big boys record, and a dicks record. highlights of the bunch: -second butthole surfers record on alternative tentacles -october faction lp for 4 bucks because the sleeve is destroyed -patrik fitzgerald 7" -first jawbox ep -all the foals 7"s in the cheap bin -new voxtrot band having a 7" out -accidentally buying two copies of the avengers 7" because they had different covers. oops

it's the "we are the one" 7", I think that "car crash" is in there, but I can't remember the other song (it's not right in front of me and I'm not about to stand up). if you want a copy, I'll sell it to you or trade it to you.

I have TWO COPIES because they have different covers and I didn't realize it was the same 7" until after I bought it. one is like, the bootleg of the original cover, and the other is some newer version with a different cover

so i've gotten rid of a shit-ton of records lately. but I've managed to pick up a couple of bangers that nobody will care about but should. First Articles of Faith - Your Choice Live (missing a couple essential songs like my father's dreams but still an awesome live lp) Under Al Kritik - Insomnia EP Awesome Danish band. Made available to those in the US by Sorry State records. Killer record. Very much like all the other awesome stuff coming out of the area but with a little bit of Articles of Faith and Dead Kennedys thrown in the mix. Definately some fast ripping riffs. An awesome record that I think most can appreciate. Check out sorrystate's webpage for a song off of it. Finally Skitkids/Nightmare split OH MY FUCKING G OD those are the only words to describe this. the skitkids side comes out of nowhere and the solo in the first song will make your heart stop. nightmare steps it up a notch compared to earlier releases (as impossible as that sounds it's true). I definately say best 7" of 2008 and possibly best split 7" EVER. I'm usually not to excited about split 7"s, they usually have one good song on them and rarely get played. And you can't deny the awesome cover. Viking monkeys vs samurai monkeys it's great.

Apathetic Ronald McDonald rules. How is the Final Draft side? I see that band pop up everywhere but never actually check them out.

It's pretty cool... very "grindviolenceish" like a lot of newer fast bands these days.

Capsule - Blue 12", comes with a cd and awesome layout/artwork etc. The reason I list this one is because it sticks out most from my recent buys. these aren't mine. just found this and i think it does it justice

So i went to the bookstore today because i was right next door. I had a box of records with me and traded some that i really will never listen to for a couple of awesome finds. First up Dead Kennedys - Holiday in Cambodia 12" Only $2 any copy I could find on ebay was around $25. This record is pretty self explanatory Elvis Costello - This Years model again self explanatory Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak The Oysters - Green Eggs and Ham Later boston band featuring people from Negative FX, DYS, and many others. Kind of rocky but not in the way of most later boston bands (ie straw dogs and weird ssd stuff) but more towards something like the replacements. Features cover art by dicky barrett (mighty mighty bosstones/impact unit) Concerts for the people of Kampuchea - V/A Benifit show for Kampuchea featuring the clash, elvis costello, Ian dury, paul mccartney, pretenders, queen, rockpile, the specials, and the who. Great line up but not so great songs. The real reason i bought it was for the pretenders songs. The Wait is such a great song. then i also got Odds and Sods by the who Live at leeds - the who Greatest hits - the kinks (can't have too many different ones)
