Something has been bothering me,looking for advice

So I really could use some sort of advice on this. The only reason I am posting here is because I know this will stay serious and this forum isnt filled with B-tards who will ruin it.

So on a couple of days ago was my last day of work. At about 1:55-2:00 pm there was a gnarly car accident right in front of my job (I work at Pee Dee Orchards and my job is right on highway 74). To get a visual of how bad it was, a Jeep Wrangle basically T-boned a Cadillac town-car of some sort and the speed limit is about 65-70 in that area. The wheels on the Cadillac flew off and it did a complete 360 before rolling into the ditch. Why it has been bothering me is because that both occupants of the Cadillac died right there in front of me (I watched everything as it happened and found this out later on). I didn't know it at the time but basically I just called 9-1-1 the second it happened. The driver of the Jeep was a 15 year old girl who had just gotten her learner's permit the other day, everyone in her vehicle was hospitalized except for her. Curiosity about got the best of me and I was about to check on the occupants of the Cadillac but something told me not to. Turns out the passenger was so bad off that the people removing her from the car kept sheets up around it so people couldn't see it. Just something about the whole situation keeps bothering me, like I cant get the image of the driver of that car just laying their motionless right in front of me. Just the fact that they were possible customers (possibly coming in to get ice-cream since it was hot that day and it was our rush time), also the fact that family members rolled up on the scene and just broke down into tears. I don't know what to do, any advice to help get my mind off things will help. Any songs, books to read, something to watch, possibly something you just came up with yourself....anything will do. The help is appreciated.

that sucks to hear. i would definitely try to talk to someone in person about it like a friend, parent, or if you are religious then someone from your church/whatever. meditation is the best thing for me to reduce my stress and anxiety, so if you've never tried that before then maybe give it a shot.

To be honest with you'll probably never forgot what you saw and even though at some point you won't think about those events everyday, at times they will surface for you to dwell on. You have to except it as just part of life and the world in which we live. Most people don't ever stop and think about how close we all our to death everyday, that death is so simple and happens so fast.

When I got back from Iraq my method of dealing with my stress from what I had seen and been through was to drink, but that's only a fool's recommendation. Continue to live your daily life as normal as possible. If you find yourself thinking about what happened try and find something to do to occupy your attention. Time is going to be the number one factor in helping you. Over time you tend to just push it to the back of your mind. I rarely talk about Iraq and other stuff unless someone mentions it. You'll get past this soon, just try to live your live as you normally do, good luck.

things like this are never easy, but danny is right. you will never forget, but as time passes, you wont think about it as much. it will still hurt when you do, but the main thing you have to realize is it wasnt your fault. it could have been someone you knew and loved or worse yet it could have been you. these things happen everyday. you just gotta accept it and know that there is nothing you could have done different to change it. if you need to call someone man i'm usually at home 3366672387. always here for ya bro

I have read about the effects of immersion as a technique to deal with trauma. If I remember correctly, the majority of cases ended positively. Contact the family perhaps? After all, they are the only other people on this earth that were also traumatized by the accident, some of them may be having anxiety because they WEREN'T there. Perhaps mutual comfort could be achieved... Assuming that their family has at least one rational person capable of holding an intelligent conversation. There is absolutely no way to find a "right" answer from this board or anywhere else superficial for that matter. If all else fails.....get trashed, repeatedly. Hope you find what you're looking for.
