I have been employed at Wal-Mart for fucking 4 months almost and I goddamn hate it. I have been strongly anti-Wal-Mart for years now, however, when I moved here 6 months ago I was forced to take the first work that I could find. That said, I am fucking fed up with their greedy, manipulative schemes. This year Wal-Mart is participating in the "Feed America" program, this year Wal-Mart is also carrying a very specific kind of turkey for the Thanksgiving season. This is a whole turkey produced by a company called "House of Raeford" these turkeys are frozen in a blue wrapper and inside of a thin red mesh plastic bag with a price tag on the handle and for whatever reason if that bag comes off, Wal-Marts policy is to donate them directly to the Feed America program (They have a frozen trailer outside of my particular store) I know all of this because I work in the meat department and am the guy that does all of this at my store. The point? I would really love it if everyone of those turkeys goes to feeding the homeless, all you have to do is rip the bag. I will take pictures of the turkeys and where they may be located if anyone is interested in doing a good deed this thanksgiving.

My broke ass is going to need a free turkey this year. I'll be sure to rip some bags if I'm ever in a Wal-mart before Thanksgiving.

House of Raeford has always done this. if the mesh bag comes off, they cant sell them, but since most products sold in chain stores still belong to the manufacturer until they are sold [stores work as nothing more than display space for the most part, hence the reason they sell "store brands" right next to them for cheaper so they can actually make money]. Anywho the only other option is to just throw them away which is what most food manufacturing companies do. the good ones do shit like this. i used to have a list of companies that did this that i got from some hipster portland kid who went around the country on train tearing open specific packages just so they would be donated to the local homeless shelter and he might get the chance to eat the food.
