Is there anything going on down there scene-wise?
.....and i mean more like grind, metal or good punk wise, not a bunch of dirty kids covering "come on eileen" or christian hardcore

The Hangar shut down a while ago and I think a few of those guys opened up Suite8, but that's shut down now too. I don't know of any other venues other than The Channel, and they don't many good shows there. As far as bands, there's Apart (FFO Touche Amore) Loather (Awesome heavy noise band). I'm sure there's more cool stuff in Greenville, but I'm just lazy and haven't come across it.

are you going to furman?
earshot records has shows occasionally, and a handful of the folks that work there know their shit and bring good bands. charlotte and atl are both close to 2 hours away, and asheville is even closer, so at least you're not that far from stuff.

Lapse and Eddie Brock played some show at a place called Circle Acres (not to be confused with the farm in Siler City) after playing Wilmington... I think it was their first time hosting a show.

I'm from Greenville and live in Charlotte now. A bunch of the cool venues like the hangar and Suite 8 got shut down.
There's a place where house shows go down called the Circle A ranch, I haven't been to it yet, but I know Code Orange Kids and Xerxes played there not long ago.
