Looking for an Emperor 2x12 guitar cab. Willing to trade an orange 2x12 or negotiate a price. I know these are very rare, but if Anyone is able and willing to do this that'd be sick. You can text me at 7049625322 or dm me.

For the price they charge to make a 2x12, you should just call them up or email Emperor. I contacted them about a year ago to commission a bass full-stack and he only quoted me like right at $900...Not too many of these cabs sitting around down here in the South.

Certainly there are better sounding cabs out there. The point to these is in the look and they custom options (6x12/8X10). Plus, they are handmade by musicians for musicians which again, they arent the only ones doing this but nice guys all the same. I dont believe there is one company that simply makes the "best" cabinets but there definitely are some good ones.

emperor shit is overrated You know enough about equipment to know that calling anything overrated is pretty silly. It all comes down to preference and the logic of your particualar setup.

why the fuck would you trade an orange 2x12 for an emperor 2x12? just keep it. the emperor cab will sound exactly the same (assuming it has similar speakers) and will fall apart way before the orange.

Not to mention the heart-ache from loading and unloading onto and off a trailer every day when you did not opt for the road cases....Definitely the easiest cabs to destroy....

look very cool, sound great, but are very expensive for what you're getting. also, the builders are really slow now from what I've heard.
it's also not very hard to stain your own cabinet.

if you have a cabinet you're happy with, pull some tolex off and make sure it's wood and not fiber board. then go to black hawk hardware and ask them to help you get the exact right materials.
also, don't tear the tolex off an orange.

noted. I've decided to keep the orange for sure, I just love it too much. I need to fix my Fender Bandmaster Reverb head first, then might continue my search for the emperor. Might run both ^-^

Whats wrong with your bandmaster? If you are in Charlotte, I can probably help you get it in ship-shape for probably under most budgets. Staining and oil finishing are extremely easy to do once youve learned a little about it. I have been doing guitars in oil finishes lately and although its not quite as nice as good nitro from a protective standpoint, they look damn fine in my opinion. I am about to do a Gibson Hawk in a vintage oil (a secret recipe used by old gun-stock restorers) finish. I also bought a very large, very nice vintage cast iron table saw and planer yesterday. I had already been making cabinets for a while but I was having to drive almost 2 hours to use the shop...now its at home...let the Splawn/Orange/Emperor/Dr.Z rip-off cabinets commence!!!!

It's not the look I'm working with. It's getting it to work, ha. I guess some of the wires are shorted out or something. I don't know shit about shit, but the head turns on, it just won't produce any sound to the cab. It's old, so I don't know. I put new tubes in it and it still won't work, so I guess I need to get it checked out.

Yeah, I meant whats technically wrong with it. I'm a professional guitar/amp tech, not a pro woodworker. Finishing is just a new hobby of mine that I started getting into very recently. If you want to get your amp up and running and dont want to sink a ton into it, let me know and I'll hook it up. Pretty much guarantee it will work for well under 200 bucks and probably more like 100 bucks....

I only gave that quote because I've just had 5 70's-era tube amps repaired and the most expensive was under 200. Those amps include a 73' Twin Reverb, a 71' Traynor Custom Special, Very early Silvertone Twin Twelve (which was completely non-functioning and ended up being an open resistor...paid 50 bucks tops). Anything from the 70's are my repairman's specialties and I would stake my life on his work. He's most of the inspiration for my love of 70's amps and my own amp tinkering.
