Just got back from Soundwave - Australia

I was there last year as well and it was EPIC(slayer,melvins,high on fire,the sword)!! This year offered less bands that I'm into but I was exposed to some awesome bands and met some really cool people. I turned into a total fanboy when I saw Greg Hetson was staying at our hotel in one of the first cities we were in... The highlight for me was watching the Cro-mags from the stage. J joseph is a great frontman and those guys just kill. The biggest surprise for me was Hatebreed. I've never heard a second of their music and never seen them live. I've met a few of them over the years but they put on one of the best live shows I've seen. They owned the crowd like no other band on the fest. The power they exude and hold over the audience was unreal. Another big surprise was Lamb of God. I've known Randy for a while and always have a bast when he's around but I;ve never seen their show. Great musicians although its not something I would listen to at home but they own their crowd as well and had one of the biggest ones of the festival. Another standout that I had no idea of until I saw them play was Raised Fist. Another strong frontman there and the band reminded me of hardcore bands of old. Of course, there were plenty of disappointing and just plain sorry bands there....probably shouldnt name names but...lets just say one involves a certain knot you would tie in rope, another is an extinct elephant and yet another with the initials MM....All in all I had a great time and I'm glad to be home for a few weeks at least...Just found out I'll be heading to Russia for a tour....scary shit

on a side note...the 420 situation in Australia is pathetic...

Hey man, less being an internet douche and more support. I think it's cool that someone from NC travels to fucking Australia to go to a festival like that and gets to hang around Greg Hetson! Cut CJ some slack, I'd rather read about crazy international festivals than internet tough guy responses.

yeah thanks guys. I'm not trying to be a douche or blowhard to anyone. I've been a part of the Charlotte scene for a very long time and Ive worked hard to get to where I am now both as a performer and a professional. I think anyone that has met me would account for that. Since I've been a member of this forum, I haven't done anything but offer advice on the things I know and do on a daily basis. People are always going to talk shat but keep in mind, I have no patience for you and have no problem telling someone to go fuck themselves....On another note, I'm glad to be home alive as last year after Australia I had dates in Japan and was in the middle of that damn earthquake...So yeah...no patience. Raised Fist is so fucking good. When I was like 12 my family hosted an exchange student from Sweden and he was all about them. First "real" band I got into.

Raised Fist was a total surprise. I'd never even heard of them until I saw them. You could tell they had that shit down pat. They ruled
