catan is such an awesome board game to play in the woods. i just added a rack to my haro. it could hold a packed up two man tent on it. possibly even a sleeping bag on top. my plan changed to just driving to asheville and parking the car and riding my bike everywhere i wanna go and drinking with people i have never met in person but have been meaning to for a while the whole cross country style of biking still kinda scares me since all i have is a simple hybrid and very little knowledge on true maintenance of it.

Got my bike back this weekend, and I'm ready to start hitting the streets. I'm so out of shape. I have a feeling this is going to be painful....I'm pumped! I just wish it wasn't so damn hot outside.

YO I'M SELLING SOME ROLLERS. if you want to not get out of shape through winter, buy em. I used them to train when I had crazy health stuff but didn't want to get way out of shape. Now I commute daily and don't need to train.

We really need to get a group going again in charlotte... We used to do the NCfixed meetups but those faded out when people realized there were cooler fads to move on to.
Long story short if anyone rides- mountain or road let me know. We should ride.

i have been riding alot around the plaza/midwood and uptown area. i'm not used to cold weather while riding though so my riding will start on rollers next weekend. i get my new masi in a couple months though so i'm definitely down to ride any weekend anywhere, road or trail since i'll still have my hybrid.

Yeah, I don't know about any kind of competitive cycling for me. I ride mad fuggin slow- I plan on putting upright handlebars, a front basket and like, 35 mm tires on the steamroller. Downtown Wilmington has mad sand, thorns, cobblestones so the steamroller will be for downtown use. The cross check is more like a short distance long haul trucker for me, with slightly more aggressive geo to make it more fun to ride around town. There's some really long hauls to get to places around town so it's gonna be more for that.

I just got an aluminum-framed Cannondale off Craigslist but noticed it has steel forks. Do you think it'd be worth an upgrade? I'm used to riding steel so I'm already more than happy with the weight of the bike.
Figured I'd ask those more bike-savvy than myself.

If anyone in Charlotte wants to ride, let me know. I haven't rode my bike since I've been here (About a year) so I'm a little rusty, but as long as it's nothing too intense I'd love to make some friends and go for a ride before it starts getting too hot.
