charlotte music scene rules. some of the most self-reliant bands that do things because they want to and fucking DO STUFF. seriously, how many bands in this town put out their own records or booked their own tours in the last two years? so many. and the bands that have become popular (or as the monarchists say "popularity contest winners") have become popular because they're DOING SOMETHING! great architect self released 3 records in the last two years, moenda did half of the split, mon frere put that record out, grids did a record, no power is self releasing a 7", joint damage put out the tape themselves, josh releases his own bands' stuff, rogue nations is all self released, young and in the way did an lp themselves (2 lps themselves?), etc. etc. paint fumes put out a record on slovenly, and it rules, and it probably wouldn't have happened if elijah hadn't been willing to put his money where his mouth was and open up his house to all types of shows, worrying only about getting music out there.
fuck, if you aren't playing shows/putting out records/going on tour and you're from charlotte its because you didn't do it yourself. diy or fucking die

Futhermore I didn't discount anything my friends and fellow bands have done. Their hardwork and talent has afforded them their cred. The fact that someones success is partly a product of popularity shouldn't upset you so much. Trust me "popular" doesn't threaten your "diy'ness". You are still underground as fuck, Rob.

Me and Seans 60 hour work weeks and Taylors 104 hour weedweeks makes it hard to get much done. Hence our lack of records and lack of mention. Butbnow that you mention it we HAVE written a new album... We will be laying it down mid-feb

Also, if you guys are getting bored that means its time to start a new band. This is the most logical shit ever.

60 hours work weeks should mean enough extra money to put out a record yourselves. I used all of the money I made from second job in the fall (soccer coaching) and put it towards no power 7".

What happened to hardcore? Jody got locked up. The man has been raising gas prices steadily, making it hard for Jody to get his huff on. Thus, Jody had to revert back to siphoning gas from people's cars. Huffin is a way of life and sometimes when Jody gets busted 24 times in the process, Jody does time. But Jody's out now, and ready to start a new band. Jody wants to do a concept album. Jimmy Huffet. It'll be about Jody's love for margaritas and huffin...and getting all hardcore and shit. Hit Jody up if anybody's down to start practicing and get this scene back to where it was.

Let's save the current state of hardcore by collabing together on your Jimmy Huffet project.

Jody is saying things like "thus" now. Community college heating and air classes are broadening your horizons for sure..... Also, the boys in Kronus are in on the first J. Huffet show. Flyer design soon.
